About AnduBer

Andu+Ber

Andu

people

The room we keep gathering — diverse, plural, unlikely.

Ber

good

The intention we won’t compromise on.

A fusion of two African cultures — and our core belief: innovation happens at the intersection.

Our Story

The bet behind AnduBer

Why a collective took on a problem most institutions step around.

The world’s biggest problems — pandemics, climate change, inequality — are entangled. The systems built to solve them are not. Scientists don’t talk to artists. Policymakers don’t listen to communities. Donor reports reward outputs the field already knows are the wrong outputs.

We started AnduBer because we’d watched this pattern enough times to be sure of two things: nobody was coming to fix it, and the people who could were already in the village — just not in the same room as the people writing the cheques.

So we built a methodology around bringing them together — Applied Intersectionality — and an organisation shaped to pay for itself: a consultancy that funds the experiments, an R&D lab that ships the prototypes, a venture arm that backs the founders the standard pipeline overlooks. Three engines, one ecosystem.

“We turn friction into flow — and ‘what if’ into ‘how to’.”

What drives us

Mission & Vision

Our Mission

What we do, day to day.

To dismantle silos and catalyze resilient, human-centric solutions to complex global challenges by colliding diverse expertise and applied creativity.

Our Vision

The world we’re betting toward.

A world where complex problems—from climate resilience to health equity—are met with thriving, systemic innovations that leave no one behind.

Our foundation

Core values

Six commitments that decide what we say yes to.

Radical Collision

Bring the unlikely room together.

We collide unusual suspects — poets with policymakers, elders with engineers — because the angles a single discipline misses are the ones that matter.

Applied Imagination

Move from ‘what if’ to ‘how to’.

We equip those rooms with systems-mapping, causal-loop and design-justice tools. Insight without structure is a feeling. Structure without insight is a spreadsheet.

Systemic Resilience

Ship things that hold up after we leave.

Solutions that address the whole web, not one strand. Community-owned and self-sustaining are non-negotiables.

Community Ownership

Work with, not for.

Local ownership, local governance, local maintenance — by design, on a stated timeline, with a stated handover.

Connective Tissue

Be the bridge no one else is bridging.

We treat the gap between disciplines as the actual job. Translating, convening, and brokering trust across boundaries is the work — not the overhead.

Human-Centric

Dignity, equity, and inclusion are floors, not ceilings.

Every solution starts and ends with the people it touches. If a metric is satisfied while a person is diminished, we threw away the metric.

The collective

We are a room, not a name

Systems thinkers, scientists, artists, community leaders, and the unusual suspects we keep gathering.

AnduBer is consciously a collective — an organisation and a movement, not a personality. The methodology only works when the room is plural; the brand has to behave the same way.

Different projects pull together different teams. Across them you’ll find epidemiologists and educators, hydrologists and theatre-makers, lawyers and traditional leaders, software engineers and grandmothers. The point isn’t a roster — it’s the willingness to keep enlarging it.

Names appear in the projects we ship and the papers we co-author. The list grows with every engagement.

From the collective

Dr. Victor Mugambi Nyaga

Dr. Victor Mugambi Nyaga

Founding President

Convened the early collective and helped shape Applied Intersectionality from a working hypothesis into a methodology. Continues to lead AnduBer Partners and to anchor the collective's strategic direction alongside the wider team.

More profiles coming

We’ll publish profiles for additional collective members as more of them step into ongoing public-facing roles. In the meantime, the work itself is the introduction.
